End Of Year Recap

Updated: Jun 20, 2023

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

As 2022 comes to an end, I want to express my sincerest gratitude to each of you. Through your investment of time, talent and financial resources, Rebirth Homes has impacted the lives of survivors in the following ways this year:

  • Provided 3,000 nights of freedom! Each night represents a night away from the life of trafficking.

  • Opened a home in Southern Nevada, our Discipleship Program that includes housing for up to 18 months

  • Provided over 300 classes to survivors including therapeutic groups, health groups, financial management groups, art groups, Bible studies, life skill groups and other groups.

  • Expanded our ministry space by moving our office. This new space allows us to have classes, training, Bible studies and has positively impacted the survivors we serve. We are thankful for the faithful donors who are providing this much needed space.

  • Transported survivors to over 1,000 appointments/groups. This area of need is one of the greatest as there are many medical, dental, therapeutic and other appointments needed during the healing journey and none of the women we work with have stable transportation. We work with them over time to get their driver’s license and/or learn the bus routes. The goal is for each woman to be able to operate independently by arranging transportation and taking care of this need. On average it takes 9-12 months for them to become independent in this area.

  • Educated Over 5,000 people about human trafficking with the intent of preventing it from happening.

These highlights show the work God is doing through this ministry! The greatest highlight for me is seeing how God transforms hearts and minds through the power of Christ and the Holy Spirit. Many survivors have experienced exploitation and/or abuse by Christians who use religion as a way to manipulate them. Most purchasers (Johns/tricks) are married men and unfortunately a portion of them are found in churches and community leadership roles. Imagine the difficulty these women face trying to discover how loving Jesus is while their exploitation was done by someone professing faith in Christ. Because of Christ’s love shining through us and consistent commitment to show His love, we are seeing God transform hearts and minds in spite of the past abuses our participants have suffered.

This time of year is difficult for many of the women in our program as they crave the family they may never have and long for the dream of a healthy, safe family. Our Rebirth Homes team works intentionally to create a community of healing and love as we celebrate the birth of Christ and the new year. We ask that you join us in prayer during this time - for peace, a sense of belonging, joy and strength for our participants and our team.

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

Isaiah 9:6

God bless you,

Debbie
